Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring component found in soft connective tissue and joint fluid. It is the most important substance in joint lubrication. As the horse ages, it produces less HA, leading to increased wear on the cartilage surfaces of the joint. the joints become stiff and movement becomes painful. HA supplementation will restore the viscosity of joint fluid and increase the mobility of the joint.
